T.O.L

Fade Away

September 23rd

Something a lil different..this is that 808 Miami connection. Cool & Dre on the production.

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 10:26 PM

Rayz does his thing over a Tinie Tempah beat.. Off the prequel to his new album.

It's been a good month.. hopefully there's something for everyone on here. don't.sleeppp.

DJ Khaled- The Future

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 10:20 PM

Another one off 'We The Best Forever', featuring Ace Hood, Meek Mill, Wale, Vado and Big Sean.

Aer- Slow Down (Feat. June)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted on 10:15 PM

This one kinda came out of nowhere but I dig the vibe..

Macklemore- Wings (Video)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 10:11 PM

Interesting.. over 200k views in a week though is a good look for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. I know they used alot of resources to make this video a reality..*puts Jordan's back on*.

Roc Marciano- Momma Told Me (Prod. Alchemist)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:50 PM

It's funny to me that this Greneberg EP dropped on the same day (I think) as Jay-Z and Kanye's Otis, yet goes ignored while the Watch The Throne leak has the internets going nuts. The Alchemist has been making stripped down beats like this for years now without the hype and massive budget of Jay and Ye's new collabo album. 'Otis' is by no means wack, but seems par for the course when certain heads have been listening to this brand of hip hop for years. Oh yeah, and Roc Marc laced this one with gems as usual..dope and hilarious at the same time.
"Far from a rookie, pockets is snookie/book me? I'm hard to hit like porcupine pussy"
"Biters copy while I pull one out the crime rhyme glossary"
"You got a haagen daaz heart this is Modern Art"

DJ Khaled- Sleep When I'm Done

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:28 PM

Say what you want about the Khaled/YMCMB movement but Cee-Lo killed this hook (albeit computer-aided) and Game and Busta came correct..dont sleeppp.

The Cool Kids- Roll Call

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:22 PM

This one sounded fly in the whip today..featuring Asher Roth, Chip The Ripper and one of the dopest/most underrated out in my opinion Boldy James. Off the solid Cool Kids project 'When Fish Ride Bicycles'.

Jay Rock- Say Wassup

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 9:08 PM

Featuring the rest of the Black Hippy crew AB-Soul, Kendrick Lamar and SchoolBoy Q. Off Jay Rock's latest joint, Follow Me Home.

Median- The Sender (Prod. 9th Wonder)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 3:17 PM

The original member of Little Brother is back with his new single on Phonte's Foreign Exchange label. Album coming soon with production from 9th Wonder, Khrysis, S1, AMP, and Kev Brown.

Joell Ortiz- Seven Deuce

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 5:28 PM

Some new heat from Joell off his new project coming soon. Produced by Jake One.

Damu The Fudgemunk- Truly Get Yours

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 5:23 PM

Featuring Detroit MC Buff1.

L.E.P. Bogus Boys- Gangstaz Only (Feat. Mobb Deep)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 7:24 PM

Produced by Toronto's Frank Dukes.

Pusha T- Trouble On My Mind (Feat. Tyler, The Creator)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 7:11 PM

Fire.. feeling this more than anything off Goblin. Produced by The Neptunes.

Canibus- Cypher Of Steel

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 7:04 PM

I'm probably going to pass on a new Canibus album at this point.. but here's a banger off his latest Lyrical Law. Sounds like an Alchemist beat.. featuring houston vet K-Rino and Skarlit Rose.

Emilio Rojas x M Phazes- Phaze One

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:38 PM

This project has been in the pipeline for a while but it's finally here. I remember hearing some joints they had recorded a couple years ago (Bold & Arrogant, That Time) back when Emilio went by Raks One. You'll recognize Australian producer M Phazes' signature sound from beats he's done for M.O.P, Pharoahe Monch, Supastition, Talib Kweli, etc. If you like some of the joints you hear below, swing over to the Phaze One site and stop sleepin'.

Survivalist

Look At Me Now (Feat. Dion Primo)

585

Smoke DZA- Gotta Get Paid (Feat. Big K.R.I.T.)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:31 PM

Shot in Toronto during the Returnof4eva tour which dont.sleeppp was in the building for (see the end of the video). Track is off DZA's solid T.H.C. project.

Tech N9ne- Strangeland

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:00 PM

A dope cut off his most recent release. It's worth a listen as I can guarantee you'll hear something you like on there, Tech's spit game is undeniable. This one is produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E League.

AZ & Cormega- On The Daily

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 5:39 PM

Another NY banger.. good to see these two linking up again.

Maffew Raggazino- Yowzers!

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 5:35 PM

Sean P's nephew lets go another banger..quickly becoming one to watch for.

Devin The Dude- The Game Don't Love Nobody

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 5:26 PM

New Devin featuring The Coughee Brothaz..never get sick of this sample. Mixtape Fresh Brew coming next week.

Open Mike Eagle- The Procressional (Live Video)

The man has skills.. check out his new LP over at mikeeagle.net.

June 2011 by Dont Sleeppp

Had to leave off some tracks this month since alot of labels aren't messing with Soundcloud.. enjoy!

Little Brother- I Got Work For Ya

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 7:07 PM

An unreleased joint produced by Hi-Tek. You may recognize the beat from Reflection Eternal's RPM album.

Freddie Gibbs & Statik Selektah- Keep It Warm

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 7:00 PM

Some behind the scenes of Gibbs and company recording one of the more interesting joints on their recent EP. Download the track below and watch some additional videos after the jump.

Freddie Gibbs & Statik Selektah- Keep It Warm (Feat. Smoke DZA & Chace Infinite)

Chris Webby- Monster (Feat. Apathy)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:38 PM

Connecticut connection over a (almost) hard banger from DJ Semi..pause.

Random Axe- Everybody, Nobody, Somebody

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:24 PM

One of my favorite joints off the new album, out now.

O.C.- Life Word

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 7:44 PM

Here's something new off DJ JS-1's most recent album Ground Original 3: No One Cares. It sounds like he stepped up production on this one so it's worth checking out(even though this beat is a little flat). With that said, it's good to hear O.C. back spittin' those positive raps again.

Nocando- Hurry Up And Wait (Remix)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 7:04 PM

Damn, even we slept on this one. The remix features a diverse west coast line-up of Murs, Dumbfoundead, Intuition, & Open Mike Eagle.

Shaun Boothe- Let Me Go (Video)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:55 PM

Old track, new video.. the beat bangs still.

The Cool Kids- Gold Links (Cookin' Soul Remix)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:42 PM

This joint is pretty fly. This is still my favorite Cookin' Soul remix though.

Beau Young Prince- The Reverse Effect

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:28 PM

Here's a new one from this youngin out of DC that caught my ear. He's got some slick production on here and does his thing on the mic. Check out some of the joints I liked the most below.

The Reverse Effect

Notes From My Travels

The Feel Good Pt. 2

Big Sean- Wait For Me (Feat. Lupe Fiasco)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 8:23 PM

Off Finally Famous: The Album out sooner than later. Produced by No I.D. and Exile.

Apathy- Check To Check (Prod. Evidence)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:13 PM

Apathy's new single off his latest album.

Radical Something- Be Easy (Feat. Kinetics)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 12:49 PM

Singer Josh Cocktail and rapper Loggy recently formed the group Radical Something and linked up with Kinetics for this fresh cut. Check out the video here.

N.O.R.E.- Finito (Feat. Pharell, Lil' Wayne) (Prod. The Neptunes)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 12:11 PM

Noreaga might have some hits this year..but not with C-N-N.

Crooked I- How To Thug

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 12:06 PM

Crooked goes hard over Weezy's soft single.

DJ Quik- Ghetto Rendezvous

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 11:52 AM

This isn't an official single or anything but it had me rolling so I had to post it. Quik gets personal on relationships involving past chicks with yeast infections, dudes with al-qaeda beards and sex offenders (put some honey on your dick and put in a blender?) over a maxed out beat he's known for. Off his new album, Book Of David.

Luck-One - Sounds Of My City [Video]

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 9:27 PM

The project he dropped with producer Dekk 'Beautiful Music' was dope..be on the look out.

Raekwon - Snake Pond

Posted by Dontsleeppp | Posted in | Posted on 7:25 PM

Tity Boi (2 Chainz) - Cowboy

Posted by Dontsleeppp | Posted in | Posted on 7:11 PM

Skyzoo- The Great Debater

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 7:14 PM

In an era where a lot of music is like fast food, an M.C. like Skyzoo often goes over the head of alot of listeners. I actually enjoy this new project though because he refrains from pointing out that people probably write him off due to their small attention spans- as he often has in the past. The Great Debater probably won't win Sky any new fans since it lacks anything which would fit in on a scene of Entourage, but the production is solid all the way through (see Track 20), and Skyzoo sounds comfortable without the pressure of making a smash single. Preview each track individually or download the whole thing here.

Rich Kidd- WeOnSomeRichKiddShit [Vol. 4]

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 6:15 PM

Rich Kidd is easily one of the best producers in the city right now, helping Toronto artists such as Drake, K-Os, Shad and frequent collaborator Saukrates sound fresh. Dont.sleeppp got the chance to show Rich Kidd some love at the D-Sisive show last weekend so I had to post this up since more people should be aware of his bangin ass beats.

Blake Carrington- Fresher Than The Rest (Feat. Rich Kidd)

Shad- Listen

Smash Brovaz- Shut Up (Feat. Lord Quest)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 7:37 PM

Yeah, I know..but having to work in this week's heatwave this has been my jam. Produced by Skateboard P too.

Young Jeezy- Do It For You (Feat. Freddie Gibbs)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 7:31 PM

The CTE labelmates link up for another joint. Off Jeezy's latest mixtape, The Real is Back.

Cormega- I Made A Difference (Feat. Steele, Stic Man, Redman, Lil Fame)

My single for Cormega Raw Forever is called ” I Made A Difference” will be released June 14th, featuring General Steele of Smiff & Wessun, Maya Azucena, Stic Man of Dead Prez, Redman, and Fame of MOP. Music played by Revelations and Jazimoto. Im proud of this song it took months to complete all proceeds will be donated to jphro.org which is Sean Penns organization that I can personally vouch for. Please get it when its available its only gonna be around 99 cent I believe and it will be 99 cents well spent.

Youtube audio only for now..will be able for purchase on iTunes soon.

King Mez- From The South (Feat. Thee Tom Hardy x Sean Boog) [Video]

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 3:32 PM

Produced by Khrysis

Junk Science- You Could Have That (Feat. Homeboy Sandman)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 2:36 PM

A different sound from Junk Science..I'm a sucker for these Atari sounding beats.

JR. Mint- Canadian Mint

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 11:57 AM

So I've had more time recently to check out some music that has been buzzin' on the blogs and shit. If you live in Toronto and follow hip hop closely, chances are you've heard this kids name and previewed some of his tracks already. Of the few things I heard (which I checked out based on the production and features), I appreciated the vibe but couldn't help but categorize JR Mint as a Mac Miller clone of the frat rap variety. However, the more I saw his mixtape cover over the internets (that shit looks quality) and watched some of his youtube clips (including this battle with KOTD's Organik), you have to respect his grustle. Check the tape out for yourself..there's Canadian talent all over it. I'm going to reserve further judgement until I see him open for Big K.R.I.T on the 27th. Download after the jump.

Smoke Out (Prod. MoSS)

Talk 2 U (Prod. Rich Kidd)

Brand Name (Prod. M Phazes)

Boldy James- Trapper's Alley: Pros & Cons

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 9:59 PM

If you watched any of this young whippersnapper's videos, you already know what to expect. Bass heavy beats and clever street rhymes. Boldy rides solo for most of the tape, but production comes in flavas from Exile, Chuck Inglish of The Cool Kids, and Don Cannon. On top of having a long-ass name, this is easily one of the dopest tapes of 2011, and Boldy is another Detroit MC to look out for in the future.

Dice Game (Prod. By Brains)

Drops Of Rain (Feat Sir Michael Rocks)(Prod. Tye Hill)

Home Invasion (Prod. By Brains)

PAC DIV - Fallin' (2011)

Posted by Dontsleeppp | Posted in | Posted on 11:10 AM

Doc Ish- The First Treatment

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 11:40 AM

You may have heard 'Is It a Dream (Feat. Budden x Kweli x Sean Price)' and 'These Streets (Feat. Max B x Red Cafe x Quan)' in a previous playlist. It's hard to find any info on Doc Ish as a producer, even as a VMA winner for producing Eminem's 'We Made You'. This album was pretty slept on despite having a shit ton of features..I could only find one review online. Check out some of the other standout cuts below and hit the jump for more info.

Hi Kidz (Feat. Joell Ortiz)

No Goodbyes (Feat. Apollo Swyf and B. Burroughs)

U Like, They Like (Feat. Sam Adams)

Dom Kennedy- Designer Sh*t

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 2:14 PM

PUSHA T - BLOW (2011)

Posted by Dontsleeppp | Posted in | Posted on 8:17 PM

Open Mike Eagle- Nightmares

Something a lil different..find more Open Mike Eagle here.

KILLER Mike - Bangx3!

Posted by Dontsleeppp | Posted in | Posted on 6:56 PM

Looks like Killer Mike's making waves in the ocean that Hip Hop has created in 2011 here. Which is f*$kin' awesome but regardless Old boy has gotten himself signed to Major Label Grand Hustle Records aka: T.I.'s Enterprise. The songs are have some mainstream swag to them but southern playistic filled lyrics, packed with enough bass for anybodys' trunk!

- dontsleep

Elzhi - El-matic! Finally! 2011..

Posted by Dontsleeppp | Posted in | Posted on 6:42 PM

Just downloaded this mixtape, I've been able to hear bother Fashawns' interpetation and now Elzhis'. All I can say is Elzhi and the over all production element/spin on the tape is crazy. This interpretation makes the original Illmatic album unload track for track and resurrect in my mind!

[Rare Footage] Big L live in Croatia (1998)

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 4:23 PM

Somebody just uploaded this 13 years later, the late great Lamont Coleman live in Concert with O.C. (around the time Jewelz came out). This is crazy to watch, keeping in mind the internet wasn't really around and all these Croatians are getting live to some real underground shit. After the jump is an exclusive interview from the same trip.

[Videos] Boldy James

Posted by Bonesy | Posted in | Posted on 11:47 PM

You may have heard Boldy on some Cool Kids or Big Sean tracks last year. Here's two new videos from the Detroit MC, both are dope. Be on the lookout in 2011.
