In preparation for his upcoming solo album 4TRK MIND in October, Exile released this mixtape with some of his best tracks and exclusives from over the years. I've posted some of the joints which were new to me below, hit the jump for the tracklist and Download link.
Growing Pains – DAG SAVAGE aka Johaz & Exile ft. Fashawn, Blu and Exile
Brolic – Bun B
Give It Up – Strong Arm Steady ft. Guilty Simpson and Talib Kweli
Patiently waiting on one half of Binary Star's next album? These two compilations should tide you over.. both released in the past month:
Laborhood Part 1
Laborhood Part 2
Bonus:
Longshot- Learn (Feat. One Be Lo)
I haven't seen this posted much anywhere so I figured I'd shed some light. I checked it out based on the DJ Burn One production and wasn't disappointed. Not many features other than CyHi The Prince and some Southern locals. Check out some tracks below and download after the jump.
T.O.L
Fade Away
September 23rd
On of the more redeemable tracks of Quence's latest release, Movies On Demand 3. Produced by The Produce Section.
Dopeness.. no longer with Stones Throw this will be off his upcoming record on Universal.
It's been a busy month..here's the bonus track from Evidence's upcoming album Cats & Dogs.
I enjoyed this whole mixtape.. here's the last track which is 15minutes and pretty much gives you an idea of what to expect.
Rayz does his thing over a Tinie Tempah beat.. Off the prequel to his new album.

It's been a good month.. hopefully there's something for everyone on here. don't.sleeppp.
Interesting.. over 200k views in a week though is a good look for Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. I know they used alot of resources to make this video a reality..*puts Jordan's back on*.
It's funny to me that this Greneberg EP dropped on the same day (I think) as Jay-Z and Kanye's Otis, yet goes ignored while the Watch The Throne leak has the internets going nuts. The Alchemist has been making stripped down beats like this for years now without the hype and massive budget of Jay and Ye's new collabo album. 'Otis' is by no means wack, but seems par for the course when certain heads have been listening to this brand of hip hop for years. Oh yeah, and Roc Marc laced this one with gems as usual..dope and hilarious at the same time.
"Far from a rookie, pockets is snookie/book me? I'm hard to hit like porcupine pussy"
"Biters copy while I pull one out the crime rhyme glossary"
"You got a haagen daaz heart this is Modern Art"
Say what you want about the Khaled/YMCMB movement but Cee-Lo killed this hook (albeit computer-aided) and Game and Busta came correct..dont sleeppp.
This one sounded fly in the whip today..featuring Asher Roth, Chip The Ripper and one of the dopest/most underrated out in my opinion Boldy James. Off the solid Cool Kids project 'When Fish Ride Bicycles'.
Featuring the rest of the Black Hippy crew AB-Soul, Kendrick Lamar and SchoolBoy Q. Off Jay Rock's latest joint, Follow Me Home.
The original member of Little Brother is back with his new single on Phonte's Foreign Exchange label. Album coming soon with production from 9th Wonder, Khrysis, S1, AMP, and Kev Brown.
Produced by Toronto's Frank Dukes.
Fire.. feeling this more than anything off Goblin. Produced by The Neptunes.
I'm probably going to pass on a new Canibus album at this point.. but here's a banger off his latest Lyrical Law. Sounds like an Alchemist beat.. featuring houston vet K-Rino and Skarlit Rose.
This project has been in the pipeline for a while but it's finally here. I remember hearing some joints they had recorded a couple years ago (Bold & Arrogant, That Time) back when Emilio went by Raks One. You'll recognize Australian producer M Phazes' signature sound from beats he's done for M.O.P, Pharoahe Monch, Supastition, Talib Kweli, etc. If you like some of the joints you hear below, swing over to the Phaze One site and stop sleepin'.
Survivalist
Look At Me Now (Feat. Dion Primo)
585
Shot in Toronto during the Returnof4eva tour which dont.sleeppp was in the building for (see the end of the video). Track is off DZA's solid T.H.C. project.
A dope cut off his most recent release. It's worth a listen as I can guarantee you'll hear something you like on there, Tech's spit game is undeniable. This one is produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E League.
New Devin featuring The Coughee Brothaz..never get sick of this sample. Mixtape Fresh Brew coming next week.
The man has skills.. check out his new LP over at mikeeagle.net.

Had to leave off some tracks this month since alot of labels aren't messing with Soundcloud.. enjoy!
An unreleased joint produced by Hi-Tek. You may recognize the beat from Reflection Eternal's RPM album.
Some behind the scenes of Gibbs and company recording one of the more interesting joints on their recent EP. Download the track below and watch some additional videos after the jump.
Freddie Gibbs & Statik Selektah- Keep It Warm (Feat. Smoke DZA & Chace Infinite)
One of my favorite joints off the new album, out now.
Here's something new off DJ JS-1's most recent album Ground Original 3: No One Cares. It sounds like he stepped up production on this one so it's worth checking out(even though this beat is a little flat). With that said, it's good to hear O.C. back spittin' those positive raps again.
Damn, even we slept on this one. The remix features a diverse west coast line-up of Murs, Dumbfoundead, Intuition, & Open Mike Eagle.
Old track, new video.. the beat bangs still.
This joint is pretty fly. This is still my favorite Cookin' Soul remix though.
Here's a new one from this youngin out of DC that caught my ear. He's got some slick production on here and does his thing on the mic. Check out some of the joints I liked the most below.
The Reverse Effect
Notes From My Travels
The Feel Good Pt. 2

Singer Josh Cocktail and rapper Loggy recently formed the group Radical Something and linked up with Kinetics for this fresh cut. Check out the video here.
Noreaga might have some hits this year..but not with C-N-N.
This isn't an official single or anything but it had me rolling so I had to post it. Quik gets personal on relationships involving past chicks with yeast infections, dudes with al-qaeda beards and sex offenders (put some honey on your dick and put in a blender?) over a maxed out beat he's known for. Off his new album, Book Of David.
The project he dropped with producer Dekk 'Beautiful Music' was dope..be on the look out.
In an era where a lot of music is like fast food, an M.C. like Skyzoo often goes over the head of alot of listeners. I actually enjoy this new project though because he refrains from pointing out that people probably write him off due to their small attention spans- as he often has in the past. The Great Debater probably won't win Sky any new fans since it lacks anything which would fit in on a scene of Entourage, but the production is solid all the way through (see Track 20), and Skyzoo sounds comfortable without the pressure of making a smash single. Preview each track individually or download the whole thing here.
Rich Kidd is easily one of the best producers in the city right now, helping Toronto artists such as Drake, K-Os, Shad and frequent collaborator Saukrates sound fresh. Dont.sleeppp got the chance to show Rich Kidd some love at the D-Sisive show last weekend so I had to post this up since more people should be aware of his bangin ass beats.
Blake Carrington- Fresher Than The Rest (Feat. Rich Kidd)
Shad- Listen
Smash Brovaz- Shut Up (Feat. Lord Quest)

May 2011 by Dont.Sleepppp
A couple days late.. here's the most overlooked tracks from May and some of our favorites in general.
Yeah, I know..but having to work in this week's heatwave this has been my jam. Produced by Skateboard P too.
My single for Cormega Raw Forever is called ” I Made A Difference” will be released June 14th, featuring General Steele of Smiff & Wessun, Maya Azucena, Stic Man of Dead Prez, Redman, and Fame of MOP. Music played by Revelations and Jazimoto. Im proud of this song it took months to complete all proceeds will be donated to jphro.org which is Sean Penns organization that I can personally vouch for. Please get it when its available its only gonna be around 99 cent I believe and it will be 99 cents well spent.
Youtube audio only for now..will be able for purchase on iTunes soon.
Produced by Khrysis
So I've had more time recently to check out some music that has been buzzin' on the blogs and shit. If you live in Toronto and follow hip hop closely, chances are you've heard this kids name and previewed some of his tracks already. Of the few things I heard (which I checked out based on the production and features), I appreciated the vibe but couldn't help but categorize JR Mint as a Mac Miller clone of the frat rap variety. However, the more I saw his mixtape cover over the internets (that shit looks quality) and watched some of his youtube clips (including this battle with KOTD's Organik), you have to respect his grustle. Check the tape out for yourself..there's Canadian talent all over it. I'm going to reserve further judgement until I see him open for Big K.R.I.T on the 27th. Download after the jump.
Smoke Out (Prod. MoSS)
Talk 2 U (Prod. Rich Kidd)
Brand Name (Prod. M Phazes)
If you watched any of this young whippersnapper's videos, you already know what to expect. Bass heavy beats and clever street rhymes. Boldy rides solo for most of the tape, but production comes in flavas from Exile, Chuck Inglish of The Cool Kids, and Don Cannon. On top of having a long-ass name, this is easily one of the dopest tapes of 2011, and Boldy is another Detroit MC to look out for in the future.
Dice Game (Prod. By Brains)
Drops Of Rain (Feat Sir Michael Rocks)(Prod. Tye Hill)
Home Invasion (Prod. By Brains)
You may have heard 'Is It a Dream (Feat. Budden x Kweli x Sean Price)' and 'These Streets (Feat. Max B x Red Cafe x Quan)' in a previous playlist. It's hard to find any info on Doc Ish as a producer, even as a VMA winner for producing Eminem's 'We Made You'. This album was pretty slept on despite having a shit ton of features..I could only find one review online. Check out some of the other standout cuts below and hit the jump for more info.
Hi Kidz (Feat. Joell Ortiz)
No Goodbyes (Feat. Apollo Swyf and B. Burroughs)
U Like, They Like (Feat. Sam Adams)
Off the excellent mixtape The Original Dom Kennedy.
Something a lil different..find more Open Mike Eagle here.
Somebody just uploaded this 13 years later, the late great Lamont Coleman live in Concert with O.C. (around the time Jewelz came out). This is crazy to watch, keeping in mind the internet wasn't really around and all these Croatians are getting live to some real underground shit. After the jump is an exclusive interview from the same trip.
You may have heard Boldy on some Cool Kids or Big Sean tracks last year. Here's two new videos from the Detroit MC, both are dope. Be on the lookout in 2011.
Boldy James - I Sold Dope All My Life from Darnell Williams on Vimeo.
We included a track with Blu/Exile from this joint on last months April Playlist. Here's a few more bangers from MED's latest Stones Throw project..link is after the jump if you like what you hear.
Ain't Bragging (Feat. Guilty Simpson)(Prod. Wajeed)
Advice (Feat. LMNO, Decalaime) (Prod. Madlib)
Bounce Back (Prod. The Alchemist)
Stripes [Run D MC](Feat. Young Jeezy)
The Hood Internet - VCR (feat. Freddie Gibbs, Telli and Elizabeth Harper) [XX cover]
